How it works
We’ve made returning your packaging easy. No extra trips, no extra effort.
Step 1: Sort your packaging
Step 1 – Sort your packaging Give your HeroGo boxes and liners a quick clean, and make sure they’re free from tears or leaks.
Step 2 – Leave it on your doorstep
The night before your next delivery, pop your packaging where your grocery box is usually dropped off.
Step 3 – We collect and reuse
When we bring your next box, we’ll take the old packaging with us – ready to be reused or recycled through the HeroGo Reuse Programme, our way of keeping good materials moving.
What will HeroGo recycle?
Our drivers only pick up HeroGo packaging materials for recycling. Any other packaging will need to be recycled separately.
Boxes
Material: cardboard
If your box is still sturdy, we’ll collect and reuse it for another delivery. If it’s looking a little tired, our recycling partners will break it down and recycle it – keeping every bit in use for as long as possible.
Gel packs
Material: LDPE plastic #4 with water-based freezer gel
If intact, we’ll collect and reuse them through the HeroGo Reuse Programme. If split or leaking, empty the gel into your household bin and recycle the plastic at flexible film collection points in major supermarkets.
Silver insulated liners
Material: LDPE plastic #4 with 30%+ post-industrial recycled material
We'll recycle these liners, but they can also be reused as padded mailers or flexible coolers.
How to recycle everything else
For any other items in your HeroGo delivery, please recycle them through your household recycling bins, kerbside collection, or a local drop-off site.
Gel packs with leaks
If intact, return with your next HeroGo delivery for reuse. If damaged, empty the gel into your bin and recycle the plastic at flexible-film collection points in major supermarkets.
